Beijing, Oct 26: On the anniversary of the Great Arab Victory Day, a ceremony was organized by the military office of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt to mark the golden jubilee of the October 1973 victories. Several officials and members of China society were among the guests at the event. Leading the guests were the Undersecretary of the General/Wang Gang, Chief Staff of the Chinese Air Force, Assem Hanafi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the People’s Republic of China. several members of diplomats, businesspersons, and media figures. The ceremony began with the Egyptian and Chinese national anthems, followed by a speech delivered by the military attaché Ahmed Shehata.

Dear representatives of the Chinese People‘s Liberation Army,
Dear colleagues defense attachés and their assistants,
Ladies and gentlemen.. Distinguished attendees,
Today Egypt both the people and army are celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the glorious October victory, the victory that was only achieved through the sacrifices of the great Egyptians and by their brave soldiers.
It is a great honor for us to have you participate in celebrating the golden jubilee of our Armed Forces Day and commemorating the Great Crossing (Egyptian soldiers crossed the Suez Canal to hoist Egypt’s flag over the occupied Sinai Peninsula). It was not just a crossing to achieve victory, but a crossing to achieve a bright future for a country whose roots extend throughout history for more than seven thousand years.
This victory is an evidence of the solid will and determination of a people and an army that has always given dearly and preciously to upraise their country and this victory also is a real product of the cooperation of the brotherly Arab peoples and friendly countries in all the defining moments in the history of our country.
This is not surprising, as a friend in need is a friend indeed. I take this opportunity to express my gratitude for being with our friends who have always supported Egypt over many years through well-established relations that are rooted in the depths of history. This is clearly evident through the strong relationship between the two countries and the distinguished partnership between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the People’s Republic of China, in all military and civil fields, such as Egypt’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative is a good example of this.
Years passed, and year after year, Egypt stands solid and strong, waging a different kind of war in the face of terrorism, and succeeds with a high degree of eliminating it and defeating the supporters of extremist ideology.
This coincides with a challenge of another kind through construction and comprehensive development, and this has been demonstrated in the enormous efforts in investment, infrastructure development, and the implementation of national and strategic projects in all aspects of life so that its people obtain the decent life they have long deserved, thus making Egypt a new crossing towards the new republic and moving forward towards reaching its deserved position regionally and internationally, which had the greatest impact in joining the BRICS economic group officially to confirm the success of the development plan and the growing economic role in Egypt as witnessed by major countries and many international organizations.

When we talk about Egypt, we are not speaking in the language of humans, but in the language of a history as a witness to the achievements of this country, a country whose people are its army and whose army is its people who stand steadfast to preserve their capabilities and protect their lands, determined to build and move forward.
I am proud to be a member of this people, and I am even more proud to be a member of the Egyptian Armed Forces, which today we commemorate the golden jubilee of its victory in the glorious October War in 1973.
Allow me to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the members of our Defense Office and their spouses for the effort made to organize this celebration in a way that is consistent with the great occasion.
In conclusion, allow me to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the People’s Republic of China, which has had historical relations with Egypt since the dawn of history.
